SOAR held its 3rd annual cocktail reception on Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Bolingbroke Mansion in Radnor, PA. A delicious buffet was followed by a short program describing SOAR's work to date and our plans for 2008 and beyond. Noted family law (and Philadelphia-based) attorney Albert Momjian served as Master of Ceremonies, while nationally distinguished attorney Mark J. Geragos served as guest speaker. Mr. Geragos was one of the lead lawyers in two groundbreaking Federal lawsuits against New York Life Insurance and AXA Corporation for insurance policies issued during the 1915 Turkish genocide of 1.5 million Armenians. He has also represented some of the most prominent figures in the world, including former Congressman Gary Condit, Academy award-winning actress Winona Ryder, and pop star Michael Jackson.

In addition to our evening's sponsors, who generously purchased advertising space in the program, SOAR would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the following persons (in alphabetical order) who worked behind the scenes to make the event a huge success:

Vicken Kazanjian (photography and videography)
Nazareth and Markrid Keshishian (food preparation and event marketing)
Lisa Manookian (food preparation)
Anahid Megerian (food preparation)
Annette Megerian (food preparation)
Arpy Minasian (raffle)
Steve Odabashian (piano)
Margaret Yacoubian (food preparation)
