Do you knit, crochet, or sew? The Balik-Jan Project hopes to bring warmth, love, and comfort to the orphaned children in Armenia. Balik-Jan Project volunteers knit, crochet, and sew infant, toddler and children's clothes. The handmade items are then donated to Armenia's orphanages. There are no rules, membership dues, donation quotas, or obligations. Make and donate what you can, and send them when you can.
What You Can Make
The following items can be made in all children's sizes - booties, hats/bonnets, dresses, sweaters, ponchos, socks, mittens, scarves, and blankets. Feel free to include a personal note with each item so that the child knows who donated it. Once we receive your donation, we will distribute to the orphanages and keep you updated on what else you can provide.
Would You Like to Become a Balik-Jan Volunteer?
If you are interested in becoming a Balik-Jan volunteer, or if you have any questions about what items we will accept, please contact Anna A. Turcotte at BalikJan@soar-us.org. All items can be shipped to the following address:
