ARTSAKH FAMILY INTEGRATION FUND UPDATES
With the forced deportation of more than 120,000 Armenians from their homes in Artsakh in 2023, the SOAR Artsakh Family Integration Fund is needed now more than ever.

ERIK ARSTAMYAN FAMILY
November 2024
Lusine has participated in make-up courses and applied for employment in several beauty salons. The family received food and hygiene and household supplies.
April 2024
The family received an Easter food package and a mixer.
Lusine is taking cosmetology courses. The family is living in a rented apartment in Yerevan. There has been no more word on Erik and he is still considered missing.

The family has moved from a hostel to a three-room apartment, which has been given free of charge for an unknow period of time.
The three children Haykanush, Sergey & Meline are going to school and the little one Karine started kindergarten.
The father is still looking for a job. The mother and the grandmother are baking “Zhengyal Bread” (a sort of flatbread stuffed with herbs and green vegetables) that is very popular in Artsakh. They are trying to sell it and to make income for the family.
SOAR purchased them an oven for their apartment so they can continue their baking endeavors!

Yana Danielyan, from a displaced Artsakh Family also attends the Ada Keshishyants Center for Disabled Children. Yana has a hearing disability but had received her certification for hairdressing. SOAR supplied her with the tools she needed to work in her profession.

The family has been cultivating the land where they are living and has an opportunity to be able to raise chickens and cows. Hovik’s wife Liana has a temporary position as a medical epidemiologist at the Lori branch of the National Center for Disease Control. To keep the job, she has been undergoing training classes.

Davit continues to attend the ADA center participating in the activities and is showing great improvement!

Davit Grigoryan’s family continues to live in a rented apartment in Vanadzor.
His father is taking in online courses for sales so he can find a job. David’s mother worked as a manicurist in Artsakh, and she will resume her work in Vanadzor when she receives the proper tools.
David’s developmental delay appeared during the months of the blockade in Artsakh, because the family was unable to get proper supplies, food and vitamins for the family.
Davit continues to attend the ADA center participating in the activities with great enthusiasm! According to his parents the progress is obvious.

It is difficult for Anoush’s father Ruben to remember what he had in Artsakh and that they lost everything in one day. Trying to adapt to the rented apartment in Vanadzor is not easy since they had built their own house, cultivated the land, and had engaged in animal husbandry.
They are trying to find a house for rent that they can afford in the nearby villages.
