Ala Antonosyan is a second-year graduate of the Academy of Public Administration of the Republic of Armenia majoring in Political Science.
Anahit Aleksanyan is in her fourth year at Yerevan State University, Faculty of Geography and Geology.
Anahit Mardoyan is studying in the 4th year of study at the Faculty of Armenian Philology of Yerevan State University.
Anahit Sargsyan is in her third year at Yerevan State University, finance department.
Ani Abrahamyan is studying in her 3rd year at the Faculty of Finance of the French University of Armenia.
Flora Mkrtchyan is attending her third year at the State Linguistic University.
Izabela Lachinyan is in her second year of graduate studies at Yerevan State University of Economics.
Karine Antanosyan is working on her master's degree in history. Karine wants to pass on her patriotism for Armenia on to future generations.
Lala Antonosyanis in her second year of the Master's program at the Faculty of Marketing and Business management of the Armenian State University of Economics.
Marine Antanosyan is studying in the Human Resources Management Master's Program at Yerevan State University.
Shushanik Grqikyan is studying at the State Academy of Arts of Armenia. She is currently doing an internship at an architectural company developing a course on 3D visualization and modeling for the Armenian market.

Yana Danielyan, from a displaced Artsakh Family also attends the Ada Keshishyants Center for Disabled Children. Yana has a hearing disability but had received her certification for hairdressing. SOAR supplied her with the tools she needed to work in her profession.

Arthur from Sisters of Charity, Bethlehem, had a very successful eye surgery! The sisters said he was very brave and never even cried! The smile on his face tells us how happy he is to have his vision corrected.

JULY

Sponsorship update for Mariam Asoyan and Nune Grigpryan

Mariam Asoyan and Nune Grigoryan of the SOAR Transitional Center in Yerevan

Mariam received an eye examination and the medication she needed. Nune was able to go shopping for her birthday and chose two pairs of shoes.

Natasha takes pottery, needlework, computer, and group classes. She loves to cook and always loves celebrating her birthday!
Mareta takes sewing, decorating, pottery, and computer classes. She likes to dance, draw and recite. Mareta is so happy she can celebrate her birthday every year because of her sponsor!
Roman continues to do paper mâché and teaches it to the other residents at all the Warm Hearth facilities. He also takes sewing, pottery, and computer classes and loves doing jigsaw puzzles. Roman is happy he can celebrate his birthday every year.
Anahit takes computer, pottery, and needlework courses. She also participates in the integration program with other residents, visiting the library, museum and various shops in the city, where she shops for myself, learning to use public transport. Anahit loves celebrating her birthday every year!
Armen attends Armenian language classes with the other residents, and in his spare time, he listens to classical music and works on the computer. Armen continues to have birthday celebrations through the SOAR Birthday Fund.
Bavakan attends classes at the special educational complex No. 2 of the Republic, learning hairdressing, and can braid the resident's hair by herself. Bavakan loves celebrating her birthday through the SOAR Birthday Fund.
Arsen takes classes in embroidery, computer, and pottery. He loves to go on excursions and walks, going to the store and shopping for himself. Arsen loves celebrating his birthday every year as well because of his sponsorship!
Yulia likes to help everyone in the kitchen. She takes part in needlework, pottery, and computer classes and likes to go fon walks and excursions. Her birthday is her favorite time and celebrates every year through the SOAR Birthday Fund.
Jhanna continues to take carpet weaving, sewing, pattern, computer, and pottery classes. She is working in a community store which gives her a lot of pleasure. She loves being able to celebrate her birthday every year.
Artur continues to attend pottery, sewing, pattern and computer classes. Artur loves his birthday celebrations through the SOAR Birthday Fund.
Fatima attends the special educational complex No. 2 of the Republic. Fatima has become quite adept at cooking and has acquired new skills. Fatima attends needlework, computer, and pottery courses. Fatima participates in an online carpet weaving course. She is always grateful she can have a birthday celebration every year.
Arsen has become a skilled cook and dreams of becoming a chef. He also takes sewing, pottery, and computer classes. He is preparing to join a sewing exhibition with some of his work. He received a phone for his birthday which was a dream come true for him!
Davit takes needlework, pottery, and computer classes. He like to go on excursions with his friends, listen to music, and dance. His birthday is always a day of joy for him.
Edita attends special educational complex No. 2 of the Republic and learns cooking skills. Edita also attends needlework, pottery, and computer courses. She always is excited to be able to celebrate her birthday!
Armine takes carpet-making, pottery, computer, and needlework classes and is skilled every handicraft. As part of the integration program, she is learning new skills for independent living: traveling by public transport, learning the rules of the road, shopping in shops, and getting to know the area. Her birthday is always a day of special joy for Armine!
Arthur attends pottery, sewing and patterns, and computer classes. He is a fan of singer Arame and this year his dreams came true, and he saw a performance by Arame.
Davit participates in carpet making, pottery, needlework, computer groups. He dreams of becoming a carpet maker and working in a carpet factory. He also participates in group excursions learning to by transport and visiting museums. Davit loves to go shopping for his birthday each year.
Alina continues to participate in pottery, carpet making, needlework, and computer groups. She also goes on group excursions to libraries, museums, parks, and shops. During that time Alina learns to pay her fare and for the goods bought in the store herself. She loves being able to celebrate her birthday every year!
Dianna attends needlework, computer, and pottery classes. She loves singing and is excited every year when she is able to celebrate her birthday!
Siranush is interested in hairdressing. She participates in computer, needlework, and pottery courses. Every year she is excited to be able to celebrate her birthday!
Rosa attends carpet weaving, and she is now able to do it almost independently. She also attends needlework, pottery, and computer courses. Birthday time is her favorite time of the year and she is so grateful she is able to have a celebration every year!
Bagrat takes cooking classes. He also takes part in embroidery, concertina, and pottery courses help at the Center. He is always excited to be able to celebrate his birthday!
Nazeli will be starting her 3rd year of cooking classes. She also attends needlework, pottery, and computer courses and loves being able to celebrate her birthday every year!
Kristine attends pottery, carpet weaving, sewing and decorating, and computer classes. She also teaches about cleanliness to the Geghanisti and Silikian group home residents. Kristine works in a community shop and hopes to be able to make and sell carpets one day with her brother. She is always excited to be able to celebrate her birthday every year!
Hrach attends pottery, sewing and design, and computer courses. He takes excursions with the other residents at Warm Hearth learning to use local transportation independently. Hrach loves celebrating his birthday every year with his friends.
Armen attends pottery, sewing and pattern, and computer class. He goes on various excursions with the group learning how to use public transportation. Armen is always excited to be able to celebrate his birthday every year with his friends.
Gayane continues to make pastries on her own and dreams of becoming a pastry chef. She continues to take carpet weaving, pottery, needlework, and computer groups. She also participates in the program to learn to use public transportation, go shopping by herself, communicate with strangers, and get to know the streets of Yerevan better. Her birthday is her favorite time of the year and she loves being able to celebrate it!
Susanna participates in the carpet weaving group and continues to embroider tablecloths and handkerchiefs. She also takes excursions with the group learning how to navigate public transportation on her own. Susanna loves reading books and going to the Khnko Apor library as well as celebrating her birthday every year with her friends!
Agappy works once a week at the community store. She loves drawing and teaching the children in community. In January she held an exhibition of her work. Agappy participate in carpet weaving, pottery, sewing, and computer groups. THer birthday is always a special day for her of celebration with her friends!
Hasmik participates in pottery, rug making, needlework, and computer groups and also does paper mâché. She also participates in an integration program, learning to travel by public transport, shop at stores, and learn traffic rules, etc. She loves her birthday celebrations and being able to go shopping for her gifts.
Gohar participates in pottery, carpet, sewing and pattern, and computer classes. She loves celebrating her birthday every year with her friends!
Sasoon loves to paint and sing. He also attends pottery classes and takes excursions to the city. His favorite place to go is the church to lights candles and to pray. Sasoon is always excited when it is his birthday, and he can celebrate with his friends!

Updates for Nakashian Children’s Support Center (formerly Mer Hooys)

Gohar Zhamharyan finished primary school and she wants to enter the college of business management in the Fall. She loves learning languages, studying English and taking Russian at the Center.
Anahit Zhamharyan studies at the University of Foreign Languages named after Valery Bryusov studying English with Spanish as her secondary language. She will be starting her second year in the Fall. Anahit also works in a children’s café during the summer holidays.
Vika Matevosyan will be entering the college of design in the Fall. She has a perfect sense of taste in fashion and loves drawing and painting.
Syuzi Sargsyan will be starting third grade in September. SOAR has helped get her the proper eye care. Syuzi takes dance classes and loves it!
Kristine Safarian finished her first year at college- the department of management. She dreams of becoming a programmer.
Mariam Safarian loves painting and design. She will be taking exams and planning on entering the college of design and make her future.
Lia Safarian finished medical college and entered the Armenian “Eurasia” University, the faculty of “Pharmacy”. Lia works in a pharmacy after classes.
Anahit Qemalyan will be in 7th grade in September. She attends piano and solfeggio classes and also sings in a choir at music school. Anahit is taking guitar lessons and carpet weaving classes.
Hasmik Mnacakanyan will start 8th grade in September. She attends piano and solfeggio classes in a musical school winning awards for her music. Hasmik loves carpet weaving and has earned awards in this as well.
Susanna Mezhlumayn will start 9th grade in September. Susanna takes English and Russian classes and loves to paint. Svetlana Mezhlumyan studies English twice a week at the Center. She attends macramé classes at the nearby Youth Center and loves making handicrafts. Svetlana also loves cooking and is always standing next to the chef and learning new recipes.
Mariam Gevoryan will begin 7th grade in September. She is advancing very quickly in her classes! Mariam continues to attend dance classes at the Youth Center and would like to start paining classes.
Mane Mantashyan completed 10th grade. She has decided that she would like a career in PR and has been learning how to make and mix videos. She loves music and takes piano lessons.
Diana and Jemma Matevosyan will be starting 12th grade this fall. In the summers they work at a bookstore together. Diana is interested in becoming a cook and Jemma a hairdresser. their mother is now ready to help care for the girls and when they turn 18 the family will be reunited.
Armine Harutyunyan will begin her 3rd year of study at the Musical College named after Arno Babajanyan in September. She sings, dances, and plays the piano. Singing is her obsession, as she always says, “I am living in a different reality, when I am singing”. She dreams of singing on the big stage.
Hasmik Abgaryan has finished her first year at the College of Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture. She plays basketball and has won any competitions. She loves to sew and model clothing.

Izolda Suqiasyan completed her master's studies in the faculty of Organization of Education!
Karine Antanosyan finished her third year at Yerevan State University, faculty of Philology. She also participated in a 3-month tour guide training course. Out of four hundred applicants, thirty students were accepted, one of whom was Karine.
Lala Antonosyan completed her first year of graduate studies at Armenian State University of Economics, Faculty of Marketing and Business Management.
Lusya Karapetyan has completed her master's studies at Yerevan State Conservatory.
Marine Antanosyan completed her third year at YSLU, Faculty of Social Sciences and Service. She also participated in professional tour guide courses, the duration of which was three months. 30 of the 400 applicants were able to participate in the course, one of which was Marine.
Narine Barseghyan completed her fourth year at the Armenian National Agrarian University and has graduated!
Taguhi Matevosyan has completed her fourth year at Brusov State University the faculty of Intercultural Communication and has graduated!

New smile for Inessa Mardoyan

In 2020 SOAR helped to fund the multiple knee surgeries that Satenik Abrahamyan needed to be able to walk again. SOAR supported her through her physical therapy and she is now thriving.

SOAR gave her $1,800 toward her own apartment and independent living!

Lilit was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, spastic quadriplegia, and osteoarthritis of both hips.

Levon was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, osteoarthritis of the left hip, and deformity of the feet.

Both received surgical procedures last November that will help them with mobility, pain reduction, and the start of rehabilitation. They are both in physical therapy and doing very well!
