Lucie Adamyan-Hovsepyan Memorial Award
“There is nothing better than a friend, unless it is a friend with chocolate.”
Linda Grayson
Lucie Adamyan-Hovsepyan was born on December 30, 1992, in Yerevan. In 2008, she started an Extension Program of English Level in the American University of Armenia. After two years of studies, she received an American University of Armenian Extension Program Certificate, English 4th level. In 2009, she entered the French University Foundation in Armenia and, after two years, entered Jean Moulin Lyon University in France. Lucie received two diplomas (Armenian and French) and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Trade & Marketing.
Lucie was a consummate optimist. She never gave up hope, even in difficult situations, and never doubted her ability to solve any problem or conquer any obstacle. Altruistic and selfless, in early 2010 she joined the Armenian-Swedish Charitable Foundation and became an English trainer for children from poor and troubled families. In 2015, she joined SOAR-Yerevan to continue her work with the underprivileged.
In January 2016, Lucie passed away after being hit by a car. Lucie Adamyan-Hovsepyan was a beloved daughter, caring sister, and amazing and kind-hearted friend to everyone who was lucky to meet her.
In 2016, SOAR established the Lucie Adamyan-Hovsepyan Memorial Award, given annually to the Chapter member in Armenia who best exemplifies self-sacrifice and volunteer service to orphaned Armenian children.
